A re-imagining of the Seattle Kraken’s logos for the Women in Hockey celebration - appeared on merch and the team’s warm-up jerseys.
The Kraken’s ‘S’ was transformed into a butterfly; though a stereotypical feminine symbol, I learned that some lore considers a swarm of butterflies a bad omen. The team’s secondary symbol - an anchor, was turned into a rhododendron flower. It’s not only Washington’s state flower, but it’s also poisonous!
